GREETINGS! WELCOME TO OUR DOJO!

SHODOKAN is now celebrating it's 45th year as a non-profit Martial Arts Center in Salem, Massachusetts and welcomes your visit!

Starting in 1962 on the three pillars of modern Japanese Martial Arts - JUDO, KARATE, and AIKIDO - we have been able to encompass KENDO and KYUDO and the allied, complimentary arts of ARNIS, T'AI CHI, and YOGA.

ALL arts have dedicated instructors, each with a minimum of 10 years TEACHING experience. This allows members to "cross train" while majoring in ONE art. Although we maintain a friendly, club-like Dojo, no compromise is made in the Traditional SELF-DEVELOPMENT GOAL of Martial Arts Training based upon Courtesy, Respect, and Discipline.

There is More to training in a Traditional Dojo than the mere acquisition of techniques.

A GREAT SPORT, SELF-DEFENSE, AND EXERCISE PROGRAM TO GET THE KIDS INVOLVED IN!

JUST A QUICK NOTE. JUDO IS GREAT FOR ALL AGES; HOWEVER; AGES 7-15 BENEFIT GREATLY BECAUSE OF THE FLEXIBILITY, TUMBLING, AND FALLING EXERCISES WE PRATICE. WE HAVE FUN, WE GET IN SHAPE, LEARN HOW TO PROTECT OURSELVES, AND MEET NEW FRIENDS! OH, AND ALL THE KIDS GAIN MORE CONFIDENCE TOO!
